Show you care, share a bear.
Show the keiki of Hawaii you care by donating a new or gently used teddy bear or stuffed animal at the 13th Annual Teddy Bear Round-up and Family Resource Fair sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii, the Hawaii Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, and the Child Abuse Prevention Planning Council.
Join us on Saturday April 10 at Pearlridge Center-Uptown Center Court from 10 am to 2 pm. The stuffed animals that are collected will be shared with children who have suffered from child abuse. There will be fun activities for families, parenting tips and refreshments! Appearances by fantastic local entertainers.
Free gifts for the first 500 families that make a stuffed animal donation. Bring your camera to take photos with Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Elmo and Dalmatian. The annual event is the highlight of the month-long series of events funded by the Hawaii State Department of Health to observe Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.

I attended last year’s Teddy Bear Drive, that’s where the first 2 photos are from. It was something to see honestly. Just piles of stuffed animals that you literally just wanna JUMP and sink into. It was awesome. What’s more great is that these stuffed animals are rewarded to children that are more unfortunate than others. They are also used as a reward to children that do good in school. Studies actually showed that children did better in school when they knew they would be rewarded with a stuffed animal. Isn’t that just awesome?
Should come out everyone!
I’ll be there volunteering and taking pictures 🙂
