The term I’m looking for doesn’t entirely fall in “freeloader” because I get things in return… just not the money that helps put food in my mouth.
Time and time again I see people get taken advantage of their skills and talent.
Sad to say, I am a victim too. But that’s my own fault for not being able to say “no.” I’ve spent years developing my skills as a designer, make-up artist, photographer and graphic artist. I’ve spent my own money on the endless supplies and tools to make it possible for me to even have these skills. But besides the money I’ve spent, the most precious thing I’ve given up to acquire these skills is time.
For make-up, I learned on my own, but a lot was learned on the job. For graphic arts and familiarity with programs, I taught myself because it was something I was passionate about at a young age. For photography, I am also self-taught. I can’t say that I’m a fricken professional at any or all of these skills, but I aint all that bad!
The point of this blog is to remind people that these skills people have developed WAS NOT FREE. So why would you ask your own friend to pull you a favor and do something for you for FREE.
Of course I always want to help my friends out and save them money. I am all about that. I always jump into it so quickly and I’m so eager to help because, I love my friends. But I’m at a point in my life where time is fuckin’ money. It’s just so out of my way to do something for free any more. And I’m finally realizing my worth. But my friends or friends of friends don’t?
& if you can’t afford the actual price for the services your asking for… at least give what you can, especially when they DO offer to do it for free. These people need to put food on the table, pay for a living space, pay for tuition, or whatever. Yeah you got bills and shit.. but who doesn’t?
The ticket costed $609 (with tax) round trip.. Uh HELLO, I’d be dumb to pass up this chance! Especially since both of my best friends were going to be in South Korea at the time anyway! Yay me!
I had so much fun, spending nine days at my friend’s place, Yheleeeee Kim. It was time that would never be forgotten as we had so much exciting memories as it was our last days together. Yeri moved back to Korea after not being about to find a company that would support her, it was one of the toughest decisions of her life that lead to one of the saddest moments of my life. Jessica, my other Korean bestie, was going to visit her family anyway for a month. So bam! We all decided I should go too!
We went to Ocean World the second day I was there. WOWWWWWWWWWW 100x better than Wet N Wild back home. hahahah. Yeri flipped over in a Level 2 wave on a huge floatie. Jessica worked muscles she didn’t know she had. And I got 3 shades darker.
The things I am missing from Korea:
Yeri’s mom’s cooking
Yeri’s mom’s face mask
Efficiency of bus/shuttle/taxi/subway system
Cheap things to buy everywhere!
Getting free stuff where ever we go! (free food dishes, free beauty sample products, free time for karaoke)
The smell of fart everywhere lolll
Overall, I do not mind going back to Korea at all. Especially since my Lover Yeri is there, and everything there is delicious and cheap! 🙂 🙂 as long as the ticket prices are cheap, i’ll definitely go back hehe.
My aunty has been doing the modeling thing for… FOREVER! She been in a lot of local commercials and body-building competitions. Now, she still gets commercial jobs here and there, and this day she had a photoshoot 🙂 She kindly asked me if I could do her make-up for the shoot. And I’m like… Duh! Of course!
We both came to the conclusion that she definitely looks a little more asian when she wears make-up, or maybe I did that on purpose with the make-up. LOL. Anyways, she looked as beautiful as ever! And the main photographer for this shoot was Damien. He was one of the cooler photographers I’ve met. Below are the some of the photos I took.
